Idetic and Comcast Media Center Launch Strategic Alliance for  MobiTV Wireless Television Service 

Berkeley, CA and Denver, CO, March 22, 2004 - Idetic, Inc. and Denver-based  Comcast Media Center (CMC) have announced a strategic alliance to deliver Idetic’s  MobiTV, the world’s first live streaming television content service delivered to mobile  phones. The MobiTV service is based on technology from Idetic that enables fast,  efficient delivery of rich media to mobile handsets. Comcast Media Center, one of the  country’s largest commercial satellite downlink and media management facilities, will  host the Idetic satellite and receiver network for the origination of television feeds.

MobiTV is a service that delivers live streaming television content to mobile phones,  enabling users to access news, sports events and updates and popular TV shows from  virtually anywhere. Developed and delivered by Idetic, Inc., MobiTV is the first global  interactive television network, capable of serving the 1.2 billion global mobile phone users  worldwide. The J2ME- and BREW-based application offers a simple, TV-like interface,  allowing users to change channels as easily as they would with a regular television. 

The 305,000 square-foot Comcast Media Center currently originates more than 80  TV networks, including HDTV channels. Its satellite uplink facility, which currently  transmits more than 400 digital services, offers KU band, KA band, C band and DBS  formats and reaches satellite downlinks in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and  South America from its 105th meridian location.

MobiTV is the first Global Television Network targeting the 1.2 billion mobile phone and  handset users worldwide. The service delivers live television feeds to subscribers in realtime  over existing cellular networks. MobiTV is compatible with most Java- or BREWenabled  mobile phones with color displays.
